Horizon Health Network

"We show empathy, compassion and respect.

We strive for excellence.

We are all leaders, yet work as a team.

We act with integrity and are accountable."

A quote from Horizon Health Network's own Corporate Profile a part of the Annual Report for FY 2015-2016.
John McGarry’s Twitter Profile  @JohnCEOHorizon, states “I'm an accountant but I don't just see numbers. I see people. As CEO at Horizon Health Network, caring for patients, families and our staff comes first.”

Horizon Health Network has serious issues. They have been the problem….not the solution.
Patients have been experiencing long wait times in the ER’s, throughout the network. Patients still cannot get in to see their family doctors in a timely manner, to alleviate the ER congestion. Their facilities are understaffed.
The NB healthcare problems did not start in 2008 -- it's always been there. It's 2016 and it's probably the worst it has ever been.

Annual Reports:

I’ve reviewed the Annual Reports for Horizon Network.  I wanted to look at the WHOLE picture. So here’s the spreadsheet I made, based on the numbers provided, in these reports through the years.

2012…is a little sketchy (it all is) in my opinion. Here’s why:

FY 2011-2012 Annual Report http://en.horizonnb.ca/media/270690/annualreport2011-12_webversion.pdf (page 54 in the PDF file) Statement of Operations. Look at the actual surplus (deficit) disclosed by Horizon Health Network. It is showing a surplus of 6,100,462.00.

FY 2012-2013 Annual Report http://en.horizonnb.ca/media/408784/annualreport2012-13_online.pdf (page 63 in the PDF File) Statement of Operations. It discloses previous FY (2011-2012) numbers. The surplus (deficit) changed. This report shows a surplus of 36,229, 934.00

That’s a difference of 30,129,472.00.

Horizon Health Network is clearly not doing anything to make it better.  “We understand.”  That is what residents keep hearing. Horizon’s solution is to cut services.

For the yearly salaries that Horizon Health Network Executives make and all this “knowledge” and “experience,” cuts are the solution. Dear Horizon Health Network Executives – YOU FIRST!

Yes, their salaries have increased over the 8 year period. “Technically” the pay increases for the execs began to increase when the CEO of John McGarry started in 2012. Don’t believe me? The execs salaries are disclosed, in their Annual Reports every year.
How many Horizon Health Network executives does it take to fix their network? I don’t know, it’s never been done before.

Resident Challenge: What have you experienced with healthcare service within the Horizon Health Network?
